SAM Seamless Network Secures Additional Series B Funding From Ericsson Ventures to Accelerate the Development of a Unified Security Platform for 5G-Connected IoTs

Tel-Aviv, Israel – 1 February 2022

SAM Seamless Network, a network and IoT security company for consumers and SMBs, today announced it has secured an investment from Ericsson Ventures in addition to its recent $20M Series B round of financing. Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERIC) is a global industry leader developing and delivering 5G infrastructure and network technology for communication service providers worldwide, as well as IoT global connectivity platforms for enterprises and factories. Ericsson’s investment reinforces SAM’s growing industry impact and commitment to expanding its security to cover 5G-connected devices across networks.

“We were very impressed by SAM’s holistic and seamless approach to network visibility and security challenges, specifically in unmanaged environments. We are intrigued to see how their technology can evolve, as more IoT devices leverage 5G capabilities and become even more integrated into our lives, cities and businesses” said Albert Kim, Vice President and Head of Ericsson Ventures.

SAM offers a software-based cyber security solution for unmanaged networks that protects the network and all connected IoT devices within it. SAM’s technology is designed to run on any Linux-based platform and can detect zero-day attacks originating in IoTs by closely monitoring the behavior of each connected device. SAM’s technology is unique in its ability to identify IoT devices at the lowest level of granularity and is therefore able to minimize the number of false positives. Additional capabilities include a prevention mechanism that stops attacks from spreading and real-time mitigation.

“We are extremely excited about Ericsson joining us in this journey as one of our investors. Being a pioneer in the 5G transformation, Ericsson’s support will enable us to make our technology accessible across-industries and become an important player in the 5G and smart-cities ecosystem” said SAM Co-founder and CEO Sivan Rauscher. “We envision our technology as an inseparable component of 5G connectivity services. With several years of monitoring and studying the behavior of IoT devices in home and office environments, we are now ready to break free, and provide a truly global and seamless security service for connected devices also in private LTE and 5G networks.”
